Momentive Performance Materials is currently accepting applications for our 2017 Summer Internship Program! The 2017 Summer Internship Program is designed to expose students to the many facets of business and culture within Momentive. Interns will have the opportunity to work on project-based, real work assignments that directly align with their educational experiences. The summer internship role will involve lab work in our labs in Tarrytown, NY. The role would involve helping to identify “novel” silanes and siloxanes to further improve the durability of Protective Coatings. The work would involve adding the “novel” silanes and siloxanes in model formulations of Protective Coatings and testing performance using instrumentation available in our labs.
Under close guidance of a chemist,
- Formulating Coatings and Sealants
- Curing Product Formulations
- Coating and Sealant product performance testing and characterization
- Using instrument software, Microsoft XL and Powerpoint, capture and summarize data and conclusions from work
- Suggestions for next experimental steps
Bachelor’s Degree program in chemistry; experience of working in a chemistry laboratory.
