Internship Instrumentation, Automation and Software Intern
Correlia Biosystems is a bioscience startup based in Berkeley, CA. This internship is an opportunity to contribute to Correlia’s automation team (software and instrumentation). Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate experience and interest in applying coding skills (in python) towards automation of instrumentation, image analysis and data analysis.
Candidates will work with a team of biologists and engineers, as well as participate in weekly research meetings with the whole team. Successful candidates will receive training from our team to gain hands-on experience with Correlia’s next generation protein assay technology. Intern is expected to bring some software (python) and hardware prototyping skills (soldering, robotics, instrumentation, microcontroller, etc.). The intern will test prototypes and help with scaling-up assay throughput and translating manual bioassays onto liquid handling robots.
This is a part-time (20-30 hours/week) position with the possibility of converting to a full-time position. Work hour or shift flexibility can be offered (i.e. weekends, evenings, etc.). Salary will be determined based on experience and education. Students who are looking for an internship experience are welcome to apply. Position is open to candidates from all fields including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer and Software Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or other majors.
