Job Description

U-M is waiting to hear the results from the review of our 2020-23 REU renewal proposal; please check back for an update. The site for OPEN for applications for 2020, with fingers crossed for a positive funding outcome. The entire faculty welcomes interest in its research programs, and projects are available in all disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of study.

Please see the Chemistry department website for general areas of faculty interest. You may assume that every member of the faculty is interested in hosting an REU student.

Descriptions of research clusters/fields of study and associated faculty will give you a good overview of the research areas available to you.

When funded, REU Fellowships include: at least a $4500 stipend, housing, and all travel.

The Domestic REU Program is not open to U-M undergraduate students.

REU programs are only open to US citizens or permanent (green card) residents.

In addition to a research project, there will be other activities, including field trips, meetings of all our summer students, weekly group meetings, and a poster session.
